Cartridge Filling and Closing

Automatic filling and closing machines for glass and plastic cartridges in bulk or nested, suitable for sterile applications.

Our innovative filling machines infeed cartridges to the filling area via start transport system with no glass-to-glass contact to prevent glass breakage. The plungers are positioned automatically. Cartridges move to the filling station, then are automatically transferred down the line to the capping and crimping station where cartridges are closed with an aluminum cap. The closing process is optimized for minimal particle generation.

Cartridge filling and closing lines can be integrated with our packaging lines for automatic inline transfer to nesting, tubbing, or custom packaging stations (upon request).

Automatic inspection systems can be integrated at every station for components presence inspection, particulate matter inspection, fill-level check, and cosmetic inspection.

Microdose Filling and Closing

The Microdose Filling and Closing machine is a compact and precise system designed for Microdosing liquid or semi-solid products into microtubes, wells, or carousels (40 µl to 400 µl). The system has been designed for use in sterile and nonsterile filling applications for the pharmaceutical, diagnostic and biotechnology sectors.

  • Carousels are placed in a vibrating bowl that orients them in the right position. A visual system detects the orientation of the carousels. A pick and place will take the carousels and position them into the line.
  • Multiple filling nozzles are used to fill the carousels or tubes. Each filling station has a load cell for feedback of the weight filled.
  • After sealing the filled carousel or tubes, they are sent to inspection stations for multiple integrity checks: cosmetic inspection, leak testing, print and label inspection.

Different closing and sealing options available dependent on the product characteristics and end-user requirements.

  • Aluminum foil
  • Tyvek
  • Polyester film

  • Dosing pumps can be easily detached from the machine base to facilitate setup and cleaning.
  • Dosing station can maintain reagents at specific temperatures for temperature-sensitive reagents.
  • Flexible design that can fill with different reagents and with different amounts in the same carousel with multiple wells.
  • The filled and sealed containers can be sent to an accumulation table, exit conveyor, or integrated inline with our packaging systems.

Nested Vials, Cartridges, and Syringes

Description

Option for our filling machines to be designed to handle nested containers in aseptic conditions.

The machine receives the opened tub in the filling area. A pick and place system moves the nest to the filling station. After filling and stoppering, the nest is re-positioned into the tub.

The nested filling and sealing machines can be used as stand-alone equipment or integrated into a turnkey line with our inspection and packaging systems.

The machine can be equipped with conventional LAF or RABs.

  • De-bagging and de-lidding stations: the machine can have a module for either manual or automated de-bagging and de-lidding by robots.
  • De-nesting and re-nesting: robotic precision handling of containers for de-nesting and re-nesting operations.
  • A labeling unit can be integrated downstream.
  • Secure recipe management

Multiple Containers
